Lucas Oil Stadium

Project Overview:

Lucas Oil Stadium is a multi-purpose sports stadium and the home field of the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts. Lucas Oil Stadium features a retractable-roof, six levels, and a street-level team store. The playing field is 25 feet below street level. Seating capacity is 63,000 and is adjustable to 70,000.

The new stadium offers 137 luxury suites, including 8 field suites that offer a unique opportunity to see the game up close and personal, as well as 12 super suites. In addition, the Quarterback Suite offers 200 seats for a unique shared suite experience.


Structural Narrative:

SYKES was responsible for the design of a substantial portion of the steel superstructure including the 300 foot long north and south header trusses, the operable roof panels, hanging press box, mechanical rooms, infill framing between the main support trusses, and the associated connection design.
